The need for care is increasing, more administrative responsibilities are being assigned to health-care professionals, and an increasing number of measuring instruments are being developed for the market. However, the one thing that is missing is more time. That is why LIME (LImburg MEet, Limburg Measures) was created; to make better and more efficient health care possible.

INTERDISCIPLINARY COOPERATION
Social innovation and good health are some of the focal points of the Province of Limburg. LIME was founded so that the province of Limburg, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences, the University of Maastricht, and the Brightlands campuses together with health-care professionals, patients, and the industry can both improve health-care and make it more efficient. Particularly practical solutions for existing problems are often the result of co-creation made possible by the interactions between the industry, researchers, students, patients, and health-care professionals.

WHY IN LIMBURG?
Limburg wants to be a leader in the innovation of health metrics because of the following factors:
- Limburg’s population is ageing and has more chronic conditions than anywhere else in the country which explains the need for innovation.
- Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and Maastricht University have a great deal of knowledge about health care in general, health metrics, and technology in health care in particular.
- Social innovation and good health are some of the focal points of the Province of Limburg.
- The four Brightlands campuses in Limburg (Health, Chemelot, Smart Services, and Greenport Venlo) can use their own expertise to contribute to improving the quality of health care.
